Nasa Resource- EarthKAM & A Lab Aloft blog

EarthKAM (on the ISS) is the successor to earlier work by Sally Ride (KidSat) to enable schoolchildren to take pictures of Earth from orbit. It benefits not just teaching of science but maths & geography to name a few subjects.
It results in stunning output like the picture on the left.


Another fine educational resource is the "A Lab Aloft" blog - this documents and explains the science being carried out on the ISS and shows how discoveries made up in space can be applied to everyday life down here on Earth. The current entry has a touching entry about the first American woman astronaut (and youngest American astronaut launched into space) Sally Ride (Who passed away recently)  and how her efforts have enthused and inspired many schoolchildren.
