National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) funding

Another brief post that may be of interest to Maths (this time) teachers:
The NCETM is pleased to announce the launch of its Collaborative Teacher Projects funding programme. We will be providing funding of up to £5 000 for teachers to work collaboratively on projects that focus on Mathematical Proficiency in Primary and Secondary Schools, with a particular focus on Arithmetic Proficiency in Primary Schools.
Priority will be given to projects which involve one or more schools where mathematical attainment is below national average, or where other evidence can be provided of the need to improve mathematical attainment. In order to be in line with the vision of the NCETM, the project emphasis needs to be placed on professional development and, where relevant, innovation in mathematics teaching, rather than on the development of teaching resources.
Early applications are encouraged for projects starting in the Autumn Term 2012, and applications for this round of funding must be received by 18 July. Further funding will be available in the autumn term.

More information - including details of the application process and a downloadable application form - can be found on the Collaborative Teacher Projects page.
